Network Engineer

We are looking for a Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure. You will be part of a network engineering team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.

Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN). Co-operate with the provisioning team to schedule necessary tasks.
Perform network maintenance, system upgrades and security configurations on-site and at remote locations / data centres.
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

Proven hands-on network engineering experience.
Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g. BGP, IS-IS, VLAN/802.1q, LACP/802.3ad, MC-LAG, VRRP, IPSEC and VPN in general, DNS, DHCP)
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
CCNP or other certification would be a bonus, but is not essential.

Experience in any of the following (2 or more would be great):
Juniper routers (JunOS), Cisco ISR-G2 Series routers (Cisco IOS) including ADSL, VDSL, 3G and 4G modules, Ubiquity routers, Quanta/Edge-core switches running Cumulus OS (Linux based OS), Fortigate firewalls, Stormshield firewalls, Cisco ASA 5500 Series firewalls, Linux, FreeBSD, Ansible, Python and shell scripting.

Education Account Manager

As market leaders, and due to sustained growth, we have a post available for an Education Account Manager at our award winning Education Internet Service Provider (ISP) centrally located in city of Bradford, West Yorkshire. The company is one of the market leaders in the education sector and a very prominent figure in the business market. This is permanent, full-time position our education division.

As a part of the Education Sales Team, the position offer the right candidate the opportunity to develop and grow the position in their own way.
Experience with in-person sales and telesales is essential, a good knowledge of the Internet and its services would be beneficial, however full training will be provided. A good sense of humour, a never give in ethic and a team spirit are essential to the roles. An ability to drive and hold a full UK driving license is also essential to the role.


The successful candidate will be a self-starter with at least 1 – 2 years working experience in a similar sales position. You should also possess the following qualifications:

 • Good skills and knowledge of computerised software such as Microsoft Office and CRM systems would be advantageous

Specific duties will initially include:

Software Developer / Programmer

Based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, we are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Programmer / Software Developer to work on various internal systems and to become a key member of our R&D team looking after Exa's SaaS content filtering offering. Ideally you will have solid programming skills in one language (Python a plus) and a good knowledge of Unix/Linux, TCP/IP and HTTP.

Our solution relies on a mix of open source technologies: Python, Postgresql, Redis, Memcached, HTTP, git/mercurial and many others.

Exa Networks also contributes part of its technology with the open source community. ExaProxy and ExaBGP which are core technologies behind our solution are both available on GitHub.

Ideally you will have programming skills in one language (Python a plus) and a good knowledge of Unix/Linux including virtualisation, and some understanding of networking. You will be required to ensure the good running of our services, making sure that proper automation is in place.

Software Developer / Software Engineer / Analyst Programmer

Software Developer / Software Engineer / Analyst Programmer

Exa Networks is a leading and specialist supplier of internet connectivity to the Education and Business sectors, located in our new head offices just three minutes walk from Foster Square train station in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Due to ongoing expansion of the business we are looking to recruit a talented Software Developer / Software Engineer / Analyst Programmer. Ideally you will have a background in business software development (e.g. Progress OpenEdge or other) and be looking to cross train to new skills.

The role will entail working on our internal software, the heart of which is our ERP solution. Based on OpenErp (Odoo) this has been heavily modified to meet our specific requirements. Our systems are written primarily using Python, Postgres running on a Linux platform.

The successful candidate will have at least four years of software development experience and be able to demonstrate skills and knowledge in developing and trouble shooting a variety of complex software systems.

You will be joining our internal R&D team that looks after all our solutions, and are also responsible for our open source products ExaProxy and ExaBGP. The latter is now in use by some of the biggest names on the internet.

This role does not involve a significant amount of night-shift work, but some flexibility with the starting and ending hours (from 08:00 to 20:00).
