How to add or remove a keyword

This article will go over how to allow or block search terms for your filtering profiles.

Before we go into how to do this, we need to identify what profile a user is matching to, this can be done by:

Open a browser and go to status.surfprotect.co.uk, which will display the profile the user is matching to:

If the profile matched on is blank, then the user is matching to the default profile and you will see the same message as above “we're matching you to the default profile in your location”

Logging into the Panel

To allow a keyword, you need to log in to the Panel. Once logged in, you will need to select your account.

From the menu on the left, select ‘SurfProtect'

Please select the relevant profile by clicking the ‘View’ button. Once selected, you will see:

To view the list or to edit it, hover over the ‘Restricted Search Terms’ section on the SurfProtect profile

Allowing a keyword:

To add a keyword, you will need to select the Add icon on the top right of the list. This will bring up a box where you can then add as many keywords as required:

Once you have entered what is required, you can then press Add, which will add it to that list.

Removing a keyword:

When a keyword needs to be removed, you can do so by clicking the yellow circle with an X in the middle of it, this will delete the keyword it is in line with. If you are unable to find a keyword, the search bar can be used to find what you are looking for.

Once removed, it will look like:

Note: The ones that have been added manually will have a red bin icon rather than the yellow circle.
