Exa are constantly looking at ways to improve our customer service. Take a look at what we have recently implemented below.
What are Application Controls?
SurfProtect Application Controls provide an easier way for customers to allow web applications and websites through SurfProtect.
We’ve moved the numerous and complex settings required to allow an application or website behind a single setting, reducing the number of filtering changes for customers to make. Using this features, users can unblock all necessary resources for known Apps through a single click.
The previous version of application Controls was difficult to navigate to and very limited in scope. Users could only allow Apps per location and the number os Apps that were available to unblock was limited.
Application Control Improvements
We have enhanced the Application Controls feature meaning users can now:
- Allow access to known applications and websites without having to contact Exa Support and with more ease.
- Apply controls on a per profile basis for more flexibility.
- Choose from over 300 known websites and applications to ensure your school can access what they need.
- Filter the list of applications and websites by either category or searching for what you’re looking for.
We’ve also made it faster and simpler for our teams to create and update Application Controls, allowing us to more easily keep up with the requirements of our customers and the ever-changing nature of web applications.
New Application Controls are now live on the SurfProtect Panel, for more information on how to use this feature check out our help site.
What if Application Controls don't fix the issue?
Large sites such as Facebook or Google undergo regular updates, each possibly requiring changes to ensure the feature works as needed. We currently cannot detect when such changes are required, however we will promptly update our settings as soon as any issue is identified.
In such cases, don’t hesitate to contact our support team via 0345 145 1234 or email helpdesk@exa.net.uk, or by providing feedback via the panel.
